Through its use of solar panels and skylights, Woodtech has eliminated the need to utilize traditional energy sources to power the company’s production facility.
Woodtech has installed 650 photovoltaic solar roof panels that cover 100% of the company’s annual energy requirements for its production plant and offices. The panels generate over 316,000 kilowatt-hours annually. This advancement garnered recognition from California Governor Jerry Brown in 2014. The panels were manufactured in the USA by SunPower. In addition, Woodtech installed over 90 high performance prismatic skylights throughout its plant, which eliminate the need for powered lighting on the production floor. The company is also supplying data to the Carbon Disclosure Project, which is a non-profit effort that measures and publishes environmental information, including companies’ carbon emissions.
